Purpose:

The Associate Financial Planner is responsible for providing financial planning and investment management services in support of the lead advisor(s). The Wealth Manager may act as a primary relationship manager under the direction of the lead advisor.  Also responsible for account trading and rebalancing when necessary.

Financial Planning, Trading and Support:

Financial Planning/Client Review

o   Obtain information necessary to develop a financial plan

o   Analyze and organize client data

o   Review client financial statements, tax returns, estate planning documents, beneficiaries and all other necessary documentation

o   Prepare documents, reports, agenda and To-Do’s in preparation for annual client reviews.

o   Follow-up with lead advisor on planning details and implementation

o   Prepare and review updated financial plans annually and as requested; provide financial planning support

o   Research planning and investment ideas

o   Build financial plan scenarios, alternative options, and written observations & recommendations, for presentation to client on behalf of advisors

Account trading and rebalancing

o   Enter trades as needed and provide quality control measures while screening trades

o   Recommend trades to lead advisor resulting from client deposits and withdrawals

o   Strong interest and desire to research and stay up to date on market trends and news

Compose and generate correspondence and client documents, including spreadsheets and reports

Creates monthly reports for clients and lead advisors – Morningstar top holdings reports, cost basis analysis, and capital gains

Review, update, and maintain beneficiary forms during every review

Provide support and act as backup to client service associates and operations staff when needed

Follow-up on financial planning tasks

Oversee special and routine investment/portfolio or planning research project, as requested

Knowledge, Skills, Education and Experience:
Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CRM and financial planning software

Advanced knowledge of financial planning and investment management terms

Strong analytical and planning capabilities

Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy

Strong fact-finding and follow-through skills

Ability to apply judgment to problem-solve

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Excellent communication and listening skills

Works well under pressure

Ability to work independently and establish priorities

Ability to project a professional image of her/himself and the Firm to clients by the way in which she/he conducts himself and the quality of the work produced

Series 7 (Required)

Minimum of 2 years financial planning or investment advisory experience

CFP certification is preferred
